Benefits

Wild rice makes for a great base since it is well-balanced including protein and fiber.

Pork is high in iron and helps replace iron lost in blood during menstruation. Be sure not to eat too much red meat during your period as it may increase cramps.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup wild rice
  •  12 oz cooked porkchop
  • 1 sweet potato, chopped
  • 1/2 lb mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup carrots, chopped
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Directions

  • Set oven to 350F. Lay cut vegetables on a cookie sheet. Drizzle olive oil on top and season with salt and pepper to taste. bake for 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
  • While those are cooking, cook your pork chops to taste. I seasoned mine with salt and pepper and cooked in a pan over medium heat until the internal temperature reached 145F.
  • In a medium sauce pan add 1 cup water and 1 cup rice. Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes until the rice is cooked.
  • Once everything is cooked, plate it and enjoy!
